Within FrieslandCampina Innovation the Raw material specification management team is responsible for high quality specifications of all raw materials used in the total portfolio of Specialised Nutrition (from newborns to moms). For this vulnerable group, attention to detail is key.
Are you passionate about food safety and eager to gain hands-on experience in the dairy and infant food industry? FrieslandCampina is looking for an enthusiastic MSc student to join our Raw Material Specification team for an exciting internship focused on improving contaminant monitoring in raw materials.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct a literature study on food contaminant legislation and industry practices.
- Review and analyse current processes and supplier contaminant reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data management, and internal processes.
- Support the development of improved templates and reporting formats.
Ce ne dorim
- MSc student in Food Safety, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Interest in regulatory compliance and food safety management systems.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Optimizing Raw Material Contaminant Monitoring Process and Reporting in Final IFT Products
Background
Within FrieslandCampina’s IFT product category, food safety is of utmost importance. A key component of safeguarding food safety is controlling the contaminant levels in raw materials used in final products. The basis for these contaminant specifications is determined by relevant legislation, FrieslandCampina’s internal raw material risk fact files, and standardized templates used by the Raw Material Specification Specialists.
To maintain oversight and control, suppliers are requested to submit annual contaminant monitoring reports. However, continuous improvement of this process, as well as ensuring alignment with the latest legislation, literature, and industry best practices, is crucial.
Objective
The objective of this internship is to analyse and improve the process of contaminant monitoring in raw materials used for IFT products, by conducting a literature study, reviewing internal processes and risk files, evaluating supplier reporting quality, and proposing optimizations in reporting structure and data management.

You will be part of the IFT Development Team based in Wageningen, The Netherlands, a dynamic group of approximately 60 professionals. This department reports directly to the Business Group Specialized Nutrition and maintains strong connections with the Corporate R&D department.
