Public Affairs Manager
The Public Affairs Manager safeguards and enhances the corporate reputation of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) through strategic stakeholder engagement, issues management, and policy advocacy. This role spearheads social development programs that align with AMC’s commitment to nation-building, ensuring these initiatives drive value, elevate corporate positioning, and contribute to business growth. By effectively executing and leveraging these programs, the Public Affairs Manager strengthens stakeholder trust, enhances AMC’s public image, and supports revenue expansion.

- Networking – Strong connections within government agencies, trade associations, media, and relevant industry groups.
- Policy advocacy – Understanding of policy-making processes and ability to craft strategic positions for AMC’s interests.

Vacancy description
- Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Develop and roll out a broad stakeholder engagement plan that fosters strong relationships with key government agencies, industry groups, NGOs, media, and other relevant organizations.
- Develop and implement a stakeholder mapping and engagement plan based on an issues materiality matrix, ensuring alignment with AMC’s business objectives.
- Create and execute an industry affairs strategy, identifying AMC’s role and involvement in trade associations to advance industry interests.
- Engage in lobbying efforts to advocate for AMC’s position on relevant policies, legislation, and regulatory matters.
- Policy & Issues Management
- Develop a legislative monitoring report with impact assessments for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring AMC is proactive in addressing regulatory and policy changes.
- Monitor and analyze global and local issues, identifying trends and their potential impact on AMC and FrieslandCampina’s operations.
- Develop an issues materiality matrix to track and assess key social, environmental, and economic issues for strategic decision-making.
- Media & Crisis Communications
- Manage AMC’s media engagement strategy, including relationships with journalists, press releases, and crisis communications planning.
- Act as a spokesperson when necessary, ensuring AMC’s messaging is aligned with corporate values and objectives.
- Identify and mitigate potential reputational risks while leveraging opportunities to enhance AMC’s public image.
- Social Development & Corporate Affairs
- Plan, lead, and implement social development programs focused on environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and nutrition.
- Ensure that these programs are positioned effectively to enhance corporate reputation and contribute to revenue growth.
- Organize corporate events and stakeholder forums to strengthen AMC’s engagement with key partners and promote its mission.
