As a Data Engineer in FrieslandCampina’s Digital Supply Chain & R&D team, you will run data engineering projects and help defining the standards and pipelines that power data-driven innovation across our global Supply Chain. You’ll work at the heart of digital transformation, collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, future-proof solutions.
What we ask
- A Master’s degree in a relevant data field (or HBO with 10+ years of experience).
- ~7 years in Supply Chain or a related IT/D&A role (or equivalent experience).
- Strong ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
- Solid understanding of domain data models, ideally with SAP experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering Data Engineering solutions, including 3+ years with Databricks.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.

Vacancy description
As a Data Engineer, you will:
- Identify the right data and sources to enable digital tools across our end-to-end Supply Chain.
- Design and deliver production-ready, IT-compliant data pipelines for major End-to-End Supply Chain projects.
- Build robust and accessible data models to support decision-making.
- Define best practices for Data Engineering for Supply Chain and R&D in collaboration with IT D&A and coach colleagues to follow these standards.
- Monitor pipeline performance and cost, proactively resolving transformation challenges.
- Enable scalable digital solutions across business units, factories, and more.
- Help shape our Azure Databricks vision and provide input on developing our D&A infrastructure.
Team Details
The new Digital Supply Chain and R&D team in FrieslandCampina is created by merging 3 Digital and Data & Analytics teams. We will enable the realization of business goals by developing digital solutions across the entire chain: R&D, procurement, planning, make, technical & logistics. We’re driving competitive advantage for FrieslandCampina by treating our data and analytics as a strategic asset.
Working closely with business stakeholders and the specialists of our global IT department, together with the team of data and analytics experts, you will play a crucial role in shaping and realizing this journey.
Our new team is engaged in many high impact projects and strategies. From fit-for-purpose tooling to data management, reporting, adoption and data-driven decision making, to automation and data science.
The Digital Supply Chain and R&D team consists of 25 members located in the Netherlands. Together we are driving the Data agenda of FrieslandCampina Supply Chain and R&D, creating an engaging journey for our 10.000 professionals to become true data citizens.
