Production Operator

FrieslandCampina Ingredients North America, Inc. is seeking a Production Operator in our Delhi, New York manufacturing facility. The Production Operator performs various tasks, including loading machinery, setting up jobs, and adjusting machinery for proper functioning and product production. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.

Positions start at $30.03 per hour, with a $1.00 shift differential if applicable. Nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

The position requires a candidate to join the Teamsters Union; health benefits are at no cost to Union members working for FCINA.

Vacancy description

The Operator is a skilled position requiring the ability to train on and master the following:
•    Various types of equipment involved in the processing of nutritional ingredients.
•    Written instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures, that detail the proper steps and methods of using the equipment.
•    Batch Records that define the specific steps necessary to follow for the proper processing of materials into finished products.
•    GMP and Safety Instructions for the safe and effective operation of equipment.

Performs a combination of production tasks which may include:

  • Loading machinery
  • Positioning and setting up jobs
  • Adjusting and operating machinery
  • Use of calibrated lab equipment
  • Observes machine processing for proper functioning and production of products
  • Load and unload materials, deliver parts or stock to designated work areas, pack products, load machinery, and clean surfaces of machines and work areas.
  • Drives forklift to move materials
  • ​​​​​​​Ability to lift 30 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis,
  • Performing such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, and repetitive tasks

The internal training process includes a certification step after which an operator is expected to perform their duties independently with minimal direct supervision.

In the course of performing duties an operator works with or directly controls steam, hot water and potentially hazardous materials in accordance with GMP and Safety policies.

Allergen Exposure - Our manufacturing facility exposes employees to various allergens and chemicals integral to our ingredient production process. Potential sensitivities include casein, wheat, soy, papain, whey, rice, pea, cotton, gelatin, and malt, as well as various chemical aromas and fumes.
