As our Capex Portfolio Manager you oversee and maintain the Global Capex Portfolio. The role's purpose is to establish a seamless connection between portfolio projects and company objectives and targets.
It involves proposing adjustments to the portfolio to address conflicts of interest, changes in priorities, while balancing within the allocated budget, ensuring a robust alignment with company goals. The ongoing commitment is to maintain an up-to-date, accurate, and aligned capex portfolio for the next three years.
This role entails collaboration with global plant teams, supply chain strategy team, commercial teams, IT, real estate, and various functional teams (e.g., Sustainability, OT, Technology, Safety - not extensive) globally.

- Proficient in navigating project-based settings and matrix environments involving various functional disciplines
- Proven expertise in developing and executing strategic capital expenditure plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to assess investment opportunities, evaluate ROI, and ensure effective allocation of capital resources.
- Have a helicopter view but also zoom-in on data and identify relevant details to be understood.
- Skilled in engaging with senior business leaders on commercial and strategic initiatives

Vacancy description
The Capex portfolio and process department is part of the Global Projects department. The Global Projects department defines and executes the capital expenditures (capex) projects of FrieslandCampina. In the Capex portfolio and process department, the capex portfolio is defined and maintained, as well as the way we work in capex projects.
As a Capex Portfolio manager you are responsible to build and maintain the global capex portfolio. You will actively promote and manage the portfolio process. In order to do so, you are well connected to the business group capex cluster leads, the single-point-of-contacts for capex of the plants, project and program managers and plant managers
Your activities can be split in the following focus areas:
Preparation of Capex portfolio board and capex approval board meetings
- You will create and continuously improve comprehensive portfolio overviews, ensuring current, validated project information
- By building and maintaining the portfolio you ensure alignment of all portfolio projects with organizational strategic objectives.
- You advise the portfolio board on project initiation, prioritization, and decision-making impact. You identify focus areas to align initiatives with company objectives and supports senior management in defining the portfolio roadmap. You ensure critical dependencies are identified and monitored.
- You proactively identify, quantify, and document portfolio risks.
- Advise on mitigation actions and escalate high risks to the portfolio board, ensuring strategic goal realization.
Prepare 3 year plan and budget, reporting on actuals and forecast
- We prepare 3 year plans and yearly budgets. Across the portfolio you will optimize budget and resource allocation to the BGs and departments.
- You provide insights into resource needs and allocation, advising management and resource managers for optimal resource allocation.
- Check, challenge and support adherence to agreed budgets and benefits. Define and maintain financial controls for project expenditures and forecasts, ensuring monitoring and updates.
Build a periodic process to refresh portfolio data and prepare portfolio updates
- You build a strong routine to collect, refresh and validate all project information from plants, departments and business groups
- You analyse project portfolio data and metrics, monitor and report on performance a.o. through benefit tracking
- Constantly you identify stakeholders and define communication and stakeholder management plans for the portfolio(s).
Tooling
- You will improve the use of our systems (a.o. Fortes, SAP, Coupa, Fortes, Power BI) to manage project data and the capex portfolio
